POTP needed

Melon the hooman here. Thanks everyone for their good wishes.
Cocoa may not have made it clear that he has a fairly aggressive tumour, not a benign one.

This is what it looks like:

It's 13mm in diameter.

He will be going into surgery tomorrow to have it removed. First though we will do an x-ray, to see if it has already spread to his chest and lungs. If it has, we won't be operating, just caring for him as best we can. If it hasn't, which is what we are hoping for, then we will remove the tumour and hope for the best.

Here he is tonight:

Getting a chin-scritch from Melon
Cocoa's always been a pretty resilient pig, so fingers crossed!

P.S. Cocoa's still doing fine, but I myself have been struggling with caring for him. It's something I have struggled with for a while, linked to my depression and anxiety I think, and I struggle a lot with guilt that my family seems to do most of his care these days. That's for another blog though - I have been meaning to set up a sub-page or a completely separate blog for me so as not to take up Cocoa's screen-time!

  1. As long as you are dealing with your depression and don't bottle things up because thats no good either, concentrate on positive things in your life as that will help too and if Cocoa gets throught the surgery spend time with him as grooming and petting our pets is good for depression and anxiety and don't worry about things beyond your control either as those things will sort them selves out.and don't worry over guilt you have nothing to feel guilty about and most of all talk to some one and if all else fails come and visit Speedy alot of his followers visit just to be inspired by his possitive out look when they are feeling down and most of all you can email me if you are feeling down and I will answer it when I get it,we are with you no matter what happens.
we are keeping fingers and paws crossed for Cocoa for tomorrow!hugs and snuggles from us both,xx Speedy and Rachel

    1. Thanks so much for your lovely comment Rachel, it's really helped to make me feel better - to have someone remind me not to worry or feel guilty, and to know that someone on the other side of the world cares. :)

I have heard that animals are good for depression - I just happen to get so guilty and depressed about my struggles to be consistent with care!

I am dealing with my depression thankyou, I am quite proactive in getting therapy and hope to manage my depression and anxiety one day.
